Ann Chase

WEBSTERVILLE – Ann “Rebel” (Bayne) Chase, born November 12, 1934, passed away peacefully in Hospice Care at the Four Seasons assisted living facility in Northfield, VT, on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Ann was born and raised in Ozark, Alabama, to Dewitt and Edna Bayne. Ann was a lifelong resident of Websterville, VT, where she shared a home with Raymond “Mutt” Chase Sr. who predeceased her on January 7, 2016. Ann met Ray at a roller-skating rink when Ray was stationed at Fort Rucker Army base. Ray was smitten by this southern belle and they were married April 30, 1955. They spent the next six years living in Ozark raising two boys, Donnie and Ray Jr, and a girl Anita. Ann and Ray then moved back to Vermont adding another girl, Debbie, and two more boys, David and Gary to the mix. Rebels and Yankees living under the same roof, oh my!
