SOUTH BARRE-Ann Peloquin, better known as Mimi to family and friends, passed away October 10, 2026 at home in the company of her family and loved ones.
Daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth Pruneau of Barre, VT and was born on Feb. 28, 1941 in Barre VT, attended St. Monica School and later graduated from Spaulding in
‘59. Soon after graduation, Ann married Fernand Peloquin on May 28, 1960 at St. Monica's Church, where they went to Mass weekly.
Ann was dedicated to anything and everything she had a role in. She started her career later in 1975, was a para-educator at Barre Town School and worked there until her retirement in 2019. Throughout her 44 years working at Barre Town School, all “her kids” brought her endless joy that she cherished for years to come.
Ann was a part of several groups, Catholic daughters of America, St. Monica’s School Board and Altrusa. She truly enjoyed helping others, gardening, crafts, shopping, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Ann is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fernand Peloquin. Her 3 children: Michele McNally, Susan Rothschild and Paul Peloquin & her sister Diane
Lyons-Benson. Grandchildren: Paige & Haley McNally, Emily Bombard, Ben & Anna Rothschild, Evan Peloquin and great granddaughter Adelynn LeMare; and her many nieces and nephews.
Mimi was a beautiful soul and will be forever cherished and missed. We invite those who knew her to join us at St. Monica Church on Saturday 10/24/26 at 12pm for a Mass in her honor. A burial will follow at St. Sylvester’s Cemetery. Family & friends are invited to the Celebration of Life at the Mutuo.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ann Peloquin Memorial Fund towards a granite bench at Barre Town School in her honor. Checks may be made out to Fernand Peloquin and sent to the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home.
Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre.
