SOUTH BARRE - Barbara Helen McMahon, 76, of Barre, Vermont, passed away on October 8, 2024. Born in Franklin, New Hampshire, she graduated from Franklin High School in 1966 and began her career in data entry at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont. Her hard work and determination led her to become the Executive Director at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where she was known for her integrity and leadership. She was the daughter of Mabel Smith and James Frye, both of whom predeceased her. Barbara was a valued member of Barre Evangelical Free Church, where she founded compassion ministries, providing meals and support to those in need. She organized winter clothing and school supply drives, embodying her generous spirit and deep commitment to helping others. During the devastating floods in Barre in 2023, Barbara mobilized efforts to feed thousands of volunteers, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to her community.
