BARRE-Betty Machia Barberi, 95, of Barre, passed away peacefully at Clara’s Garden in Montpelier, VT, on Tuesday November 3, 2026.

A long-time Barre resident, Betty will be remembered for her warm smile, outgoing personality, and friendly nature.

Betty shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her high school sweetheart, Bobby Barberi until his passing in 2016.

Betty served her community as a bank teller at local Barre banks before continuing her career with the Barre City School system. She was naturally social and happiest when surrounded by friends and family.

She is survived by her children John (Jean) Barberi, Karen (Jim) Culver, and Lisa (Todd) Gariboldi. Her grandchildren Justin (Ashley) Barberi, Kale (Amanda) Barberi, Chaz (Silene) Barberi, Kelsey (PJ) LaPerle, Zachary (Alexa) Rouleau, Kylie Rouleau, Brynn Rouleau, Payton Gariboldi, Crosse Gariboldi, Chris (Elizabeth) Culver, and Ceire Lennox.

Her great - grandchildren Alicen and Max LaPerle, Gavin and Kye Barberi, Aurelia and Jay Barberi, Piper and Emma Rouleau, Mary and Charlie Culver and Emma Sweeney.

She was pre – deceased by her husband Bobby, son Douglas and infant daughter Ann Louise.

A graveside service will be held at Hope Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
