MONTPELIER-Bonnie S. Jalbert, 82, of Montpelier, passed away unexpectedly at her daughters’ home, in Huntersville, NC, on November 29, 2025.

She was born on October 10, 1943, in Randolph, Vermont, the 1st of nine children,

to Winsome Bruce and Henry Mason. She attended grade school in East Barre, and Spaulding High School in Barre, where she met the love of her life, Norman Jalbert. They eloped on December 16, 1961, and had the 1st of their 5 children a

year later.

Bonnie was well known around the Barre area and made friends with everyone she met. She would always say "I can't go anywhere without running into someone I know!" Then she loved spending a little time "chatting" with them. She had many joys in life, including her love of Puzzles, Country Music, Dark Chocolate and going to the Casinos with her friends and family. Her biggest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bonnie was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1995 and her daughter Susan in 2020. She is survived by her children, Michael, (Dennis Pomroy), Jalbert, of Phoenix, Arizona, Gisele, (Duane) Vance of Pawcatuck, Connecticut, Deborah Morgan, of Davidson, North Carolina, Lori (Chris) Fuller of Huntersville, North Carolina, as well as her Grandchildren, Ashley, (Maciej) Karwaszewski, of Bielsko-Biala, Poland, Brett Morgan of Charlotte, North Carolina, Emily Merchant of Greensboro, North Carolina and Megan, (Andrew) Hanson of Troutman, North Carolina and their 2 sons, Lane and Wyatt Hanson, as well as 2 “bonus” sons, Michael Morgan of Connecticut and Darryn Merchant of North Carolina.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Bonnie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11am at St Monica Church, 79 Summer Street, in Barre. There will be a private burial immediately afterward, followed by a reception at the Elks Lodge in Barre.
