MONTPELIER-Brian FitzPatrick of Montpelier, VT, passed away on August 1, 2026. He was born to Sylvester and Geraldine FitzPatrick in Manchester, Connecticut, and graduated from Manchester High School in 1963.

Brian is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda (Rogerson) FitzPatrick; his daughter, Rebecca FitzPatrick of Monhegan Island, Maine; his son and daughter‑in‑law, Tim and Cate FitzPatrick; his grandchildren, Audrey and Henry, all of Mansfield, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

He would often joke that when he was in grade school chorus, the nuns told him to “just move his lips.” This did not hinder his love of music. He was active in the bluegrass community for over 40 years. He served on the boards of Connecticut Friends of Bluegrass and the Bluegrass Music Association of Maine, helped behind the scenes in many ways, and made many cherished friends.

Outside of the music world, Brian obtained a degree in engineering and worked in the insurance industry, working long hours to ensure that his family had the life his parents left Ireland to pursue.
