BARRE - Claudette N. (Dagesse) Pouliot, 82, of Barre, VT, was born in Courcelles, Canada, on September 13, 1943, to Levis and Eva (Lessard) Dagesse. She passed away on May 2, 2026, after years of health complications.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Normand G. Pouliot of Barre, VT, and her four children: Martina (Pouliot) and her husband, Donald Boudreault, of Graham, NC; Marlyne (Pouliot) and her husband, William Wolfe, of Berlin, VT; Tim Pouliot and his wife, Donna (Gadziala), of Barre, VT; and Vickie Pouliot and her partner, Sharon Herald, of Danvers, MA. She was predeceased by her daughter, Pamela Pouliot, in 2003.
Claudette is also survived by one brother, Richard Dagesse of Colebrook, NH, and one sister, Lorraine Brousseau of La Guadeloupe, Canada. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Raymond, Fernand, Gerard, Florent, Jean-Marie, Yvon, Reginald, Roland, and Clement Dagesse, and her sister, Marie Laurie Gosselin.
She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Luke Boudreault and his wife, Mary; Adam Boudreault and his wife, Lauren; Amanda (Wolfe) Barberi and her husband, Kale; Nathan Wolfe; Abigail (Wolfe) Boisvert and her husband, Cory; Alexander Pouliot; and Matthew Pouliot. She is further survived by seven great-grandchildren: Christian, Lorelai, Levi, and Molly Boudreault; Gavin and Kye Barberi; and Henry Boisvert, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Claudette dedicated her life to her family and cherished time spent at family gatherings. She was a remarkable cook, and everyone knew they could count on a delicious meal—even with little notice. She took great pride in maintaining a spotless home and worked tirelessly cleaning houses for numerous clients. Claudette earned the admiration and respect of all who knew her. She was a strong and courageous woman—a true warrior.
Given Claudette’s many health challenges, her family is especially grateful for the care and compassion provided by Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heaton Woods Assisted Living, 10 Heaton Street, Montpelier, VT 05602.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church, 79 Summer Street, Barre, VT, on Tuesday May 19, 2026, at 11am. There will be no calling hours, in accordance with Claudette’s wishes.
