CLARMONT, FL - Diane Roy Stevens of Clarmont, Florida, went to her eternal life October 25,2025. embraced in love from her husband, friends. family, caregivers and Church. DeDe's battle against Alzheimer’s was long and bravely fought. Her tremendous capacity for love and caring and always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need are her legacy Diane was born to Oram and Lydia Roy April 6, 1944, the youngest of 14 children. Her early life was spent in Barre, Vermont, where she attended St. Monica's Elementary School and later Marion High School until she graduated in 1962. Soon after graduation she married John Gordon and together they established Gordon Sandblast Co. Diane not only worked in the shop, but she was also the bookkeeper. They later divorced. DeDe's early years were spent working in many different jobs, including the meat department at the A & P store, babysitting, helping with a local hairdresser, all to make her dreams of home ownership a reality This she accomplished many times over. She worked many years on the road as a sales rep. and also helped her son John, at the Quality Market. Even though DeDe had an exceptional work history, she was an extraordinary Mom and homemaker, home restorer and willing to help anyone in need. The best wife, daughter, sister and true friend. The early 2000's opened a new adventure for Lady Di and her husband Dick Stevens, with a permanent move to Florida. She liked being warm and enjoyed, many months of the year gardening, her lifelong passion. Dick passed away after several years in Florida. She later met and married Mike Elkins, and they resided in Clermont, Florida, where she passed. She is survived by her husband, Mike Elkins, Florida and his children, Amy, Kim and Tony. Her 3 sons, John, Jeffery and Jamie Gordon. Jeffery resides in Norton, Vermont and Jamie and his partner Rose live in Northfield, Vermont. John's wife Kelly and their children, Alexis and Danielle and their children and spouses of Danielle and sister Anita Seguin and her husband Charles and their children and grandchildren. Charlie and Anita live in Burlington, Vt. Also, Brian Stevens of New Hampshire. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews which she always tried to keep track of and many dear friends, old and new. She honored all who knew and loved her with a life well lived. Goodbye dear friend.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026, at 11am at Hope Cemetery in Barre.
