Dorothy J. Ellero

NASHUA, NH - Dorothy J. Ellero, 91, of Nashua, NH (formerly of Windham, NH; Acton, MA and Barre, VT) passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026.

Born in August of 1935, in Barre, VT, she was the beloved daughter of Arthur and Alba (Perolini) Pruneau of Barre, VT; sister of Carol (Pruneau) Groleau of Essex Jct., VT and Arthur J. Pruneau of Phoenix, AZ. She was educated in Barre schools, graduating from Spaulding High School in the Class of 1953. She was a Secretary at the Johnson & Gustafson Granite Co. and National Life Insurance Company before her marriage to Mario Ellero of Williamstown, VT in 1959.

They lived in So. Barre and Barre, VT until 1973 when they moved to Acton, MA along with their three children. Dorothy worked as an Administrative Secretary at Digital Equipment Corp. for 18 years before her retirement in 1991. In 1997, they moved to Windham, NH. She and her husband were active members of the International Choreographed Ballroom Dance Association for 25 years, traveling throughout the country attending various dance events. In addition to dancing, she enjoyed sewing, creating many of her own dance gowns.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by her 3 children: Daughters Lori (Frank) Kouble of Duxbury, MA; Joanne (Robert) Jones of Merrimack, NH; and son Vincent Ellero and wife Marla of Upton, MA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Mario Ellero, who died in January of 2018.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre, VT on November 28, 2026, at 12pm followed by a private family service at Hope Cemetery, Barre, VT.
