EAST MONTPELIER-Edna A. Corliss passed away on Saturday, September 21,2024 at Central Vermont Medical Center with her youngest son, James, at her side.
Edna was the 9th of 11 children born to Clarence and Anna (Gifford] Campbell, in Bethel, VT on 02.20.1935. Edna had the benefit of living in several small towns during her childhood, spending time in Huntington, Bolton, Montpelier, and Royalton. She often shared stories of her years growing up in these small towns.
She worked at the National Clothespin Factory, and the Waterbury State hospital prior to meeting her husband of 61 years, Bernard A. Corliss. At that point they settled in East Montpelier and raised 5 children. When the children were older Edna returned to work at Reddy Plastics and then Vermont Plastics, where she ran an injection molding machine creating baby pins, Pez dispensers, and pacifiers.
In 1996 they purchased a camp at Campbell’s Bay in Swanton where they spent weekends for years, and entire summers once she retired from Berlin...
