WATERBURY - Edward John Zeno, 67, of Waterbury, Vermont, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 3, 2026, after a long battle with COPD.
Edward was born in 1958 and was originally from Bristol, Vermont. He spent most of his life as a proud resident of Waterbury, where he built lifelong friendships and became a familiar face in the community.
Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Trudy Zeno, and his father, Marvin Zeno. He is survived by his mother, Bev Zeno; his sister, Rhonda Zeno; his daughter, Sarah Zeno; and his son, Joshua Burt and wife Katie.
He also leaves behind the grandchildren he loved dearly: Ashley, Sierra, Daniella, Levi, and Kamryn, children of Sarah Zeno; and Jacob, Kiara, and Kai’leaigh, children of Joshua Burt and Katie. Edward was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Emmett, son of Ashley Zeno, and Octavia, daughter of Jacob Burt.
Edward also leaves behind many beloved extended family members throughout Vermont, Connecticut, and Michigan.
Edward was a devoted member and former Post Commander of the American Legion in Waterbury, Vermont. He valued his community, his fellow veterans, and the many lifelong friendships he made over the years. He was also a passionate NASCAR fan, and you could always find him enjoying the races every weekend.
Edward will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends, his love of conversation, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
Services for Edward will be held on May 31, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the American Legion in Waterbury, Vermont.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice in Edward’s memory.
Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St. in Barre.
