Edwin L. Larkin Jr.

NORTHFIELD – Edwin L. Larkin Jr., 76, of Northfield, passed away on August 4, 2024, at the Veterans Hospital in White River Jct. after a long battle with cancer. Born on June 19, 1948, he was the son of Edwin and Blanche Larkin. He grew up in Orange, VT, attending Orange County School and Spaulding High School. In 1967, he enlisted in the U.S. navy reporting to NTC Great Lakes, IL. After basic training he went on to NAS North Island, San Diego, CA, stationed on the USS Bennington Aircraft Carrier assigned as a Plane Captain directing and inspecting aircrafts. After serving 3 Tours in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged and returned to Vermont in 1973. In 1975, he met the love of his life Laurie Gay and they married February 14, 1976. Together they raised their family in Northfield. Edwin was always employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator and in 1989 decided to start his own business and worked until his retirement.
