Geraldine (Gerry) B. Mowatt

WILLIAMSTOWN — Geraldine “Gerry” Mowatt (Trombly), 96, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully on Monday September 14th at Central Vermont Medical Center. Gerry was born on June 7th, 1930, in Montpelier, Vermont. She was the daughter of Marshall and Adeline (Santor) Trombly. She attended Montpelier School and later worked at The National Clothespin Factory. She married the late Tom Mowatt, and they had three children. Later on, Everett Hurlburt came into her life; they moved to Williamstown and had a wonderful life together. Throughout her life, Gerry was known for her devotion to family, her kindness and strength, and her amazing spaghetti sauce recipe. She enjoyed holiday gatherings at her home with family, music, her flowers and vegetable garden, and trips up to camp. Above all, she cherished her family and friends more than anything. Gerry is survived by her children Tom Mowatt, Kim Bigelow, and Barb Dolan (Chris), her grandchildren Julie Devine (Mike), Nate Dolan (Kimberly), Scott Bigelow, and Becky Bulaga (Jacob), and her great-grandchildren Noah, Tucker, Lola, and Rowan; along with several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Hurlburt, and her siblings Norman, Edward, Robert, Jackie, Lorraine, and Arlene. A service will be held in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre. Her love, strength, and memory will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
