BARRE - Jean Ann Belville, 86, of Barre passed away on May 30, 2025, at her daughter’s Fiancé’s home in Granby, VT surrounded by family. Born February 1, 1939, in Montpelier, she was one of 11 children born to Beulah and Owen Eldred.
Jean grew up on her parent’s farm in Middlesex and attended schools in Middlesex and Montpelier including Montpelier High School. She married Walter Belville in 1959 and divorced in 1964. After raising 8 children, Jean started working as an in-home health care aide in the mid 80’s, then joined Central Vermont Home Health Care. But the real joy of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved buying gifts and seeing the big smiles. She was ready to help family in
need anytime. Always.
The family wishes to give special mention and thanks to Larry Lamphear who is Cindys fiancé and whose home he graciously allowed our mother to live at for months while being cared for until her passing. He treated her with respect and dignity until she died as if she were his own mother and she thought of him as another son. With all our hearts, thank you Larry. We would also like to mention how grateful we all were for the hospice nurses and doctors who genuinely felt for our mother while giving her the best care
possible and guiding family members on how to care for her in her final weeks.
Jean has 2 surviving brothers, Gerald, 82 and Larry, 72. And 8 children. 2 daughters; Cherrie, 60, Montpelier and Cindy, 57, Granby. And 6 sons;
Bill, 65, of Washington, VT. Randy, 64, Craig, 63, Daryl, 59, Tim, 56, and Chuck,
55. All of Barre. Jean is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
We love you mom. Rest in peace and relax. We’ll take it from here.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on July 19, 2025, at North Branch Cemetery in Middlesex. All are welcome.
Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St. in Barre.
