Joan C. Habbep

BARRE - Joan C. Habbep, 87, of Barre, VT, passed away on November 5, 2023, at her home. Born on August 10, 1936, in Cohasset, MA, she was the daughter of William and Kathryne Wigmore. She attended a local elementary school and graduated from Cohasset High School in the class of 1954. After graduation, she took classes at Bryant-Stratton Business College in Boston, MA. In 1956, Joan married Charles Maginnis in Cohasset, MA. They had one son, David M. Maginnis of Barre Town. The couple later divorced. In 1967, Joan married Ralph Habbep in Barre, VT. They were married for 55 years before his passing in 2022. Joan worked many years for the Anderson-Friberg Co. and after a merger, retired from Rock of Ages. After retirement, Joan volunteered for several years at the Central Vermont Medical Center gift shop. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and would sometimes have two books going at the same time. She also loved crossword puzzles along with all of her games on the computer.
