WATERBURY CENTER - It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Joshua Alan Blackler. Joshua was born February 21, 1983, to Melanie Phillips and Christopher Blackler. He graduated from Harwood Union High School and held a variety of jobs throughout his twenties, always finding ways to stay active and connected to his community.

Although estranged from his birth family, he held onto love and hope. Josh was fortunate to have many friends who he considered family. His concern for others was profound. It was a gift to know him.

Joshua was so proud of his home in Waterbury Center. He loved hosting parties, always with a folding table at the ready in the garage. His Birthday, Friendsgiving and Christmas were highlights of the year. He celebrated Christmas with an energy that could make the elves envious, there was no such thing as too many lights or trees, and by the 2025 holiday season, Josh had five trees on display!

Josh’s humor was infectious and he had a tenancy for life. He enjoyed monster trucks, birdwatching, magazines, cheering for the New England Patriots, watching home renovation, and watching home renovation, tiny house, and cooking programs.

He is survived by his parents and a stepsister. A stepbrother predeceased him.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Canadian Club in Barre Vermont (414 E Montpelier Rd, Barre, VT 05641) on Tuesday, May 12, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Refreshments will be provided. Storytellers are welcome. Josh would want his friends to smile, be upbeat and to care about one another. Please contact Will Baker (802) 324-3528 if you have any questions.

Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St. in Barre.
