Joyce E. Hastings

BARRE - Joyce E. Hastings, 82, of Barre, VT, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, at CVMC in Berlin surrounded by her family. Born September 4, 1943, in Barre to George and Pauline (Edson) Willette. She attended Marion High School. On May 23, 1964 she married Clark Hastings Jr. They made their home in Barre.

Joyce was employed at Sprague Electric, Rainforest Crunch, VT Butter & Cheese, and S.B. Electronics.

Joyce’s life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent her days going on adventures with her children, dancing to country music, playing with all her grandbabies and making soup every Sunday for family brunch.

She is survived by her children, Clark Hastings III and his partner Johanne, Tammy Maurice and her husband Marc, Corrina Garbacik and her husband Joel, Tina Priddy and her partner Alexis, Sue Priddy and her husband Wayne, and Dawn Sayers, 15 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, sisters Shirley Schlossin and her partner Carl, Norma Lalime, brother Donald Tofani and his wife Dee, and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents George and Pauline, her husband Clark, her siblings Larry Edson, Winfred Willette, Charles Willette, Richard Willette, William Willette, Anna Dukette, Janice Stephenson and her grandson Jayvin Maurice.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Joyces life will be held on Thursday January 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Church In Barre. A private burial will follow in the spring at Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick Vt.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Road, Suite 105 Northfield, Illinois 60093.
