Obituary

PROVIDENCE RI-Mary Bedell passed away, leaving behind family and friends who will remember her for her love of family, the beach, and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perlie and Grace Richardson; her sister, Sherry Dailey; and her brother, Stanley Richardson.

Mary enjoyed crafting and finding new projects she could create, playing bingo, listening to country music, shopping, and spending time by the ocean. She especially loved the beach and lighthouses and looked forward to any opportunity to be near the water.

For many years, Mary operated an in-home daycare in Vermont, caring for children in her community. She also worked for H&R Block in Vermont, Tennessee, and Rhode Island, where she made many lasting friendships.

Mary was especially proud of her family and cherished the time she spent with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Family gatherings, celebrations, and everyday moments spent with those she loved were among her greatest joys.

One of the most important relationships in Mary's life was the bond she shared with her sister, Sherry. More than sisters, they were the very best of friends. Together they shared countless adventures, road trips, beach vacations, shopping excursions, and spontaneous outings. They found joy in simply being together, creating a lifetime of cherished memories filled with laughter, stories, and unforgettable experiences. The love and friendship they shared was extraordinary, and the memories of their many adventures remained among Mary's most treasured possessions. Though Sherry passed before her, the special bond they shared remained forever in Mary's heart.

Mary also shared a close and enduring bond with her sister, Sandra "Sandy" Hennessey. Throughout her life, Sandy was a source of love, support, encouragement, and companionship. The sisters shared a lifetime of memories and remained deeply connected through both life's celebrations and its challenges. Mary's love for Sandy was unwavering, and their relationship was one she treasured deeply.

Mary was also blessed with friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Mary maintained a special bond with two dear childhood friends, Karen Huppe and Rita Duffy Wilson. Through the years, their friendship remained a constant source of joy, laughter, comfort, and support. The memories they shared and the enduring connection they maintained throughout their lives were gifts Mary treasured dearly.

She is survived Michael Bedell, to whom she was married for 25 years, and with whom she remained close friends; her daughters, Crystal Miller and husband Shawn, Bethany Carleton and husband Roger, and Amanda Upshaw; her grandchildren, Lucian Gonzales and wife Hannah, Emalie Gonzales and fiancé AJ Conklin, Breonna Carleton, and Landon and Celina Miller; and her great-grandson, Koda Conklin.

She is also survived by her sister, Sandra "Sandy" Hennessey and husband Kevin; her brothers, Bruce Richardson and wife Nancy, Butch Richardson and wife Lori, and Charlie Richardson and wife Deb; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Mary will be remembered for her love of family, her independent spirit, her generous heart, and the joy she found in life's everyday moments. Her legacy lives on through the memories she created, the love she shared, and the countless lives she touched along the way.

Calling hours for Mary will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 from 5-7pm at Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer Street in Barre Vt. A graveside service will be held on Thursday October 15, 2026 at 11am at the Riverbank Cemetery in Stowe Vt.
