Maurice Charles Soucy

BARRE-Maurice Soucy, a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully in his sleep, at the age of 88, on January 19, 2025, at Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing home in Berlin, VT. Maurice was a gentle soul born in Graniteville VT on January 26, 1936, to Annette (Poulin) and Joseph Soucy. He lived in Graniteville, VT, Groton, CT and Windsor, VT before settling in Barre, VT. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1954 and joined the US Navy, serving as a Medical Corpsman from 1955-1959. Maurice met the love of his life Sonia Caplitcka in 1959, and they were married on September 24, 1960. During his life he worked at Sprague Electric in Barre for many years and retiring from SB Electronics in 2001. After retirement he worked for the Pruneau-Polli funeral home. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife Sonia while taking long afternoon rides and vacationing in York Beach, ME.
