EAST MONTPELIER - Norman Arsene LaPerle, 92, of East Montpelier, passed away in the comfort of his own home on January 30, 2026. Born in Rumford, ME, on December 16, 1933, to Arsene and Odivine (Goulet) LaPerle. The family moved to East Montpelier where he attended St. Michaels High School.
Norm was a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married his wife of 69 years, Claire (Fournier) LaPerle on January 26, 1957. They resided in East Montpelier and raised a family.
Norm worked many years and retired from Rock of Ages in Graniteville. He had natural athletic ability, enjoyed many sports, and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed camping and carpentry as well. He built and sold many sturdy picnic tables. He also had a side business of refurbishing and selling golf equipment.
Survivors include his daughters Donna LaPerle of Hinesburg, VT, Diane (LaPerle) Clark of Berlin, VT, and Denise (LaPerle) Bergami (John) of Scotia, NY, and son David of East Montpelier. Grandchildren include Angela, Britttany, and Bianca. Siblings include Annette (Jean) Lawson, Roger, James and Marcel LaPerle.
He was predeceased by a son Douglas, daughter Darlene, son-in-law William Clark, brothers Maurice and Robert, and sister Georgette (Thompson).
Calling hours will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 8:30am to 9:30am at Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held the same day at 10am at St. Monica Church is Barre.
Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St. in Barre.
