Robert J. Kerr Jr.

BARRE TOWN - Robert John Kerr Jr., 87, of Barre town, passed away on January 30, 2024, with his children by his side. He was born in Montpelier, VT, on March 17,1936 to Robert and Evelyn (Frasier) Kerr. Bob was educated at St. Michael's elementary and high schools and graduated in 1955. In the summer of 1955, Bob joined the US Army through the new Reserves program. Bob stayed in the Army Reserves for 10 years with an additional 4 years in the Navy Reserve with the Sea Bees. He graduated from VT Technical College in 1960 and started a 38-year career with the VT Agency of Transportation, retiring in 1998. The week after graduating from VTC, Bob married Susan Brewer from NY in August of 1960. Bob was an avid Skeet and Trap shooter. He was VT State Skeet Champ several years in a row and Senior Trap in 2006. Bob is survived by his daughter Laurie K. Lavigne (Ernie) of Berlin, and Robert P Kerr (Amy) of Barton, and his 3 grandsons Jacob Lavigne, Shaun Kerr and Bradey Kerr. Bob is predeceased by his wife...
