Rose M. Wheeler-Stillson

BARRE - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rose M. Wheeler-Stillson, affectionately known to many as “Mama Wheeler.” Rose was born on October 13, 1959, in Pulaski, Virginia, to Kenneth W. Wheeler of Montpelier, Vermont, and Stella J. Church of Pulaski, Virginia. She graduated from U-32 Middle and High School in 1978 and continued her education at Woodbury College in Montpelier, Vermont. Rose was a humanitarian with a passion for caring for her community and ensuring safety and equality for those around her. She is best known for running Toy Joy, a program that collected and distributed new and gently used toys to families in need during the holiday season. She operated this program alongside her son, Zack, her daughter, Autumn, and many dedicated volunteers throughout the years at Bethany Church in Montpelier.
