Sanjin Varga

BARRE-Sanjin Varga, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2024, in Barre, Vermont. Sanjin was born in Gradacac, a small town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to parents Amela and Zeljko Varga. In 1996, he and his family relocated to Vermont from the Balkans. He graduated from Montpelier High School and later from Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA with a double degree in Creative Writing and Religious Studies. Sanjin worked as a counselor for young adults at Washington County Mental Health Services, where he took great pride in making a positive impact on those affected by trauma. Sanjin was an adventurous spirit with many hobbies. He was an accomplished writer, though he was unable to finish the novella he had been working on. He loved walking and hiking, especially exploring uncharted paths in the forest. His love for music was evident in the time he spent playing his violin.
