BARRE - Suzanne A. Grenier, 77, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, May 9, 2025. Born in Piopolis, Quebec on September 22, 1947. She was predeceased by her parents, Francois Grenier and Jeannette Grenier (Coulombe). Suzanne, in her earlier years in Vermont, worked for the Barre Learning Center. She helped many Canadians achieve the goal of earning their GED’s. She was passionate about helping her community. For many years she volunteered at the Canadian Club and their Women’s Auxiliary. This led to her working with her brother, Pierre Grenier with managing all of the events the Club held. As time went on, she became a bartender at the Canadian Club and worked there until her retirement. Over the years, many members of the community called her “friend”, as she has always given more of herself than was asked for.
Arnold Lacross, her life partner, whom she adored, predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her son, Steve Plante; Pierre Grenier, brother; Francoise Grenier, sister.
She leaves behind daughters, Janet Munoz and her husband Jesse of San Antonio, TX; and Lisa Shover and her husband Jim of Panama City, FL. Sister, Carole Root of Shelburne, VT and brother, Alain Grenier and wife Jan of Randolph, VT. Grandchildren, Bryant Molander and wife Crystal of Swampscott, MA; Justin Molander of Barre, Vermont; Taylor Vanderwork of Topeka, Kansas; Lindsey Foster of Charleston, SC; Hillary Gilman of Greensboro, NC; Alli Gilman of East Montpelier, VT and Jacob Plante and his wife Lilly of Barre, VT. She has two great granddaughters, Amelia Yoder of Topeka Kansas and Lydia Molander of Swampscott MA. She has one great grandson, Maverick Bigelow Gilman of East Montpelier, VT.
Suzanne will be laid to rest at a later date.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Canadian Club.
